R & D Machinery is a privately owned company established in 2006 to supply new and used Agricultural and Construction machinery to a wide variety of customers throughout Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. Since then the company has expanded and we now supply machines into the industrial, access, waste recycling and rail industries.

The team at R & D are all local and well known people and we provide a friendly and professional service to our customers. Our mobile service technicians cover the territory very efficiently and with the large stock of spare parts both in the depot and on our service vehicles we are able to maintain our enviable reputation for fix on the first visit.

Our depots are located in Totnes (Devon), Bodmin (Cornwall) and Wellington (Somerset).

Services

Below is a list of the different services that we can offer:

  • Thorough Examination

    R & D Machinery are members of the CFTS who work in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive. Thorough examination of lift trucks is required under health and safety law: LOLER 1998 which covers lifting equipment, and PUWER 1998 which deals with all other safety related items such as brakes, steering and tyres. There are many companies offering thorough examinations but be aware that not all comply with the law. By using R & D Machinery to carry out your inspection you can be confident that when a certificate is issued it will satisfy the HSE.

  • Machine Hire

    R & D Machinery have a fleet of Agricultural and Construction telehandlers for hire whether its short term or long term. Our hire fleet includes a wide range of different sizes to suit each customers requirements and alongside a machine we can also provide a wide range of attachments.

  • Workshop Bespoke Services

    R & D Machinery provide a host of services to compliment our usual business so please call the service department should you require any of the following:

    • Air conditioning service/repair
    • Welding and fabrication
    • Hydraulic hose manufacturing
    • Bespoke Attachment Modification
